Dear Jenn,
About a month ago my Mom and I started taking Flora Source. I’m happy to report that you’ve got a customer for life in me! I’m feeling great – no more constipation, bowel movements are like clockwork, and my belly just feels much calmer and more relaxed.
Unfortunately, Mom is complaining about gas since she started taking the product. She would like to stick with it because it’s helping her irregularity, but unless the gas symptoms go away soon, she will stop taking it.
I read somewhere that the scFOS prebiotic (an ingredient in Flora Source) causes gas in some people. Could that be what’s happening with Mom, and if so, is it a temporary thing? I’d really like to see her stay with Flora Source so we can team up our orders and take advantage of your great sales!
Sincerely,
Margaret
Dear Margaret,
Thank you so much for your question and wonderful comments. I am so glad that you are seeing the great results that so many others are also having!
One of the reasons your Mom may be having gas is that, as we grow older, our bodies produce fewer digestive enzymes. As a result, when we eat, the food goes into our stomach and rots. This creates all kinds of gas and unpleasant gurgling. Your Mom may want to try a digestive enzyme to help the process of breaking up the food and helping her body absorb the nutrients. We have two products featuring digestive enzymes:
ZymaZorb Digestive Enzymes contain scFOS non-gas producing fiber and 18 vegetarian enzymes – 15 enzymes to target the stomach and three enteric-coated enzymes to support digestion in the small intestine. ZymaZorb promotes efficient breakdown of carbohydrates (sugars), fats, and proteins to support normal metabolic digestion, nutrient absorption, and regularity.
FloraZyme Digestive Aid contains five probiotic strains and 5 billion probiotic cells per serving,* scFOS non-gas producing fiber, and the same 18 vegetarian enzymes as in ZymaZorb. FloraZyme helps alleviate occasional indigestion, supports optimal nutrient absorption, and promotes a balanced digestive system.
Although FOS has been known to cause gas, we chose a short-chain version that is typically non-gas producing. Please let me know if you have any other questions that I can help answer.
Sincerely,
Jenn
